Makenna Moss

Makenna Moss discovered the joy of dance at 12 when she took her first class at Edge Dance Academy. She trained, performed, and competed in jazz, jazz funk, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, ballroom, heels, and ballet until she graduated from Edge’s program at 19. During this time, she also performed and competed on the San Marcos High School Dance Team, including three years in varsity.
Makenna was then accepted into the CLI Conservatory, a groundbreaking new program in Massachusetts designed to prepare students to enter the professional world of dance. While there, she performed in multiple shows, made and starred in creative films, and attended over 500 classes led by over 100 of the world’s best choreographers, including Teddy Forance, Brian Friedman, Wade Robson, Popin Pete, Hamly Tavarez, Al Blackstone, and many more.
After graduating from CLI Conservatory in June of 2024, Makenna began pursuing teaching and dancing professionally as her passion. She has trained and continues taking classes at world-renowned studios, such as Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, Brickhouse NYC, Millenium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle, Playground LA, and TMilly Studios, to expand her dance education and experience.
Makenna first discovered her passion for teaching at 16 at Edge Dance Academy. She has also taught with multiple other studios, including Project Performer, GC Dance Company, Stage Door Dance, and Norris Performing Arts Center. Makenna is excited to be now a member of the Carlsbad Dance Centre’s team! In Makenna’s classes, she teaches us to share her appreciation for dance, create a positive relationship with dance, and prepare the next generation for a long and successful journey in the field.
