Delena Cruz

Delena Cruz was born and raised in Carlsbad California, where she would begin her dance career at Carlsbad Dance Centre at the age of five.  Delena trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary where she would find her love for dance continuing her passion for fourteen years. She would then join Carlsbad Dance Centres first performance company at the age of eight, to then join her studios competition team the following year where she would compete for eight years. Throughout her years competing some of Delena’s dances would be nominated for Industry Dance Awards, for Best Tap, Best Hip Hop, Best Contemporary/ Open, and Best Line. In 2014 , Delena’s dance Suit & Tie, Choreographed by Abbie Naber, would win an IDA for Best Tap.

In addition to this Delena would be one of two freshman to make her high schools JV dance team, where they would compete in Orlando, Florida at UDA Nationals, placing 2nd in Jazz and 3rd in Pom. Delena was the only team member in her grade to make Varsity her Junior and Senior year of high school, her Junior year at UDA Nationals they placed 3rd in Hip Hop and 3rd in Jazz, also winning a World Hip Hop title at the Cheer and Dance World Competition, as well as placing 1st in Hip Hop at USA Nationals. With Delena’s Senior Year approaching and being the only Senior on the team, she was determined to lead the team to another National and World Title. At the 2017 UDA Nationals Delena and her team would place 1st in Hip Hop and 3rd in Jazz, as well as 2nd in the World!

Throughout High School Delena was given the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s best choreographers and audition for a talent agency, after graduating high school Delena has continued her training being apart of an all female Hip Hop Crew and auditioning for Janet Jackson’s State of The World Tour. Delena’s dedication and love for dance has given her so many opportunities and experiences of a lifetime!
