Emma Jensen

Emma Jensen was born in Orange County and started her ballet career at the age of 3. She started to study under Lauri-Michelle and Ben Houk at San Elijo Dance and Music Academy with her two siblings. Emma started to train in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, and Lyrical over the next 17 years. Emma has always had a passion for dance and found a specific admiration for ballet.

She attended several summer intensive programs over the years at familiar companies like Houston Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, The Rock School, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and the University of Utah. She was able to study with professional companies over the years and was invited to the Walnut Hill School for the Arts year around program in Boston, which she attended from 2014 to 2015. Emma performed with the West Coast Performing Arts pre-professional company with San Elijo Dance and Music Academy, where she performed at 10+ Nutcracker shows. She performed roles such as Clara, Doll, Spanish, Snow, Flowers, and many more. She always had a deep love for the performing arts and being on stage.

After graduating from Carlsbad Seaside Academy, Emma started to deeply appreciate choreography and teaching. She went on to choreograph for a Ballet academy in Germany. There she choreographed for YAGP, the World of Ballet competition in Russia, and other competitions all over Germany. Dance has given Emma so many gifts throughout her life and her love of dance continued into teaching the new generation of dancers. Emma is extremely grateful for her parents who inspired her to follow her dream and supported her throughout all of it. She is excited about this next journey with Carlsbad Dance Centre.
